Marrakech Mining Convention : OCP shares its know-how in mines
Organized under the High Patronage of his Majesty King Mohammed VI,the Marrakech Mining Convention (MMC) was held from 17 to 19 April in the ochre city. At the initiative of the Ministry of Energy, Mines and Sustainable development, and with the strategic support of OCP Group, the event ambitions to position itself as a new platform of exchange in the world’s mining industry. In this regard, more than fifty international businesses and twenty foreign delegations, including several African ministers, took part in the first edition of MMC. The meet-up presented several panels, round tables and conferences in which OCP officials took part.
M. Iliass Elfali, EVP Industrial Operations, animated, after the Opening Ceremony, the keynote « Global Footprints ». Through his intervention, Mr. Elfali highlighted the large transformation program undertaken by OCP Group on the industrial level, but also in regards of the sustainable development, digitalization and innovation fields.
In parallel of the MMC, a side event was dedicated to the launch of the official Mining Challenge. Dedicated to start-ups, this program reinforces the positioning of OCP Group as a key actor of Open Innovation, and highlights its support to the development and promotion of the African entrepreneurial ecosystem. It also answers the strategic and operational issues of mining jobs.
On the second day of the conference on mines, M. Hichame Guellaf (Head of Industrial Digitalization) and Aziz Mhandi (RSE Director Safi) respectively intervened and panels around the industrial digitalization program of the Group and the Act4Community program. Lastly, Friday 19th of April focused on the Circular Economy Program and Diversity within the Group, with the interventions of Zineb Benjelloun (Water and Energy Manager) and Ibtissam Bensetti (Support & Supply Chain Industrial Operations Director).
The OCP booth was also an attraction during the MMC. After the official opening, the OCP teams on the booth received the visit of the responsible minister, Aziz Rabbah, accompanied by his African counterparts. Moreover, several foreign professionals as well as locals were interested in the solutions offered by the Group within the booth.
