The processing industry

To meet the international market demand and develop a local phosphate industry, OCP Group undertook as far back as in 1965 to construct complexes. These international-scale plants are specialized in the production of phosphoric acid and fertilizers. The production capacity is divided between two sites within the Chemical Industry Pole: Safi and Jorf Lasfar.
Approximately half the production is concentrated and exported as semi-finished product (merchant grade phosphoric acid) and half is locally processed into solid fertilizers. Most of these fertilizers, largely dominated by DAP, is shipped out of Morocco. The share sold to local customers adequately meets the local requirement.

Currently, most of OCP Group's phosphoric acid plants are being revamped, which is appreciably increasing their output.
