Marathon des Sables: The fine performance of OCP ambassadors during the first stage
Hammou Moudouji, a professional athlete and Hicham Moukrim, a collaborator of the Khouribga site wear the colors of OCP during the 34th edition of the Marathon des Sables. Renowned as the most difficult ultra-trail in the world, the run that is held in the Moroccan desert gathers more than 1000 athletes from 52 nationalities this year.
After the kick off on the 05 April, on the eve of the International Day of Sports for Development and Peace, the athlete ran the first stage this Sunday 07 April. Hammou Moudouji excelled during this first day ranking fifth overall.
In total, the runners of the Marathon des Sables will need to complete 250km in the Moroccan Sahara at their own pace and in food self-sufficiency, with a daily trail step that they do not know about beforehand. A unique experience of self-transcendence and perseverance.
