Benguérir: organising an operation to circumcise 400 children - 06/01/2014

On 22 December 2013, Benguérir urban commune, in partnership with the Gantour site and the Rhamna Foundation for Sustainable Development, organised an operation to circumcise 400 children from poor families in the various parts of the town. The operation was carried out at Assadaka Centre by the medical team from the Ofoq Association for Assistance and Solidarity, a team made up of physicians and nurses. Also present at the event were elected local officials and the Secretary General of the Rhamna Foundation for Sustainable Development, as well as managers from OCP and the various associations. During the event, food hampers, clothing, and bedding were given to each beneficiary child.

Safi: distributing two new buses for the benefit of pupils - 06/01/2014

The Safi site organised a ceremony to distribute two new school minibuses for pupils in Ouled Selman and Khat Azakan rural communes. The action was in addition to a programme sponsored by the OCP Foundation to distribute 25 minibuses in Safi Province. The ceremony took place in the presence of representatives of the Ministry of Education, the Chairpersons of the communes concerned, the RSE team, and the OCP Foundation. The operation comes within the context of OCP’s societal responsibility for promoting education, in particular the fight against school wastage in rural areas.

Youssoufia: celebrating International Volunteer Day - 23/12/2013

On 05 December 2013, Youssoufia Skills Centre marked International Volunteer Day. The occasion gave its members (an audience of about 300 young people) an opportunity to work together on projects and campaigns in order to contribute and to promote their contributions to Millennium Development Objectives at local, national, and international level. Young volunteers from Youssoufia Province were present together with members of Youssoufia Skills Centre to share with them their volunteering experiences, achievements, challenges, and ambitions. The event was also the occasion for announcing the various teams selected for youth initiatives.

Safi: successful certification of the Integrated Management System - 23/12/2013

The site successfully passed the certification audit of the Quality of Health, Safety, and the Environment Integrated Management System, in accordance with the following standards: ISO 9001 - Version 2008, OHSAS 18001 - Version 2007, and ISO 14001 - Version 2004, in keeping with the OCP Production System (OPS); that was a first for our Group. Worthy of note is the fact that the audit was carried out from 02 to 06 December 2013 by a team of auditors from the accredited body Bureau Veritas. The audit’s opening and closing meetings were chaired by the Safi Site Manager. During the audit summary meeting, the Head of Bureau Veritas confirmed that there was no objection against issuing the certificate for our Integrated Management System. In his closing address, the Site Manager congratulated the site’s collaborators for the efforts made and the success of this first step on the road to excellence of our Integrated Management System.

Benguérir: IPSE launches a campaign to raise awareness of the dangers of not obeying road-safety rules - 03/03/2013

In the context of marking National Road-Safety Day and Awareness Week initiated by Benguérir Site, the IPSEs have launched a campaign aimed at their students to raise awareness of the dangers of not obeying road-safety rules. Various preventive actions have been planned, including awareness-raising by teachers in class, presentations, a poster campaign, comedy playlets, quizzes, video-screenings, and putting together a collective drawing on the theme. The initiative was also marked by the effective participation of national police officers from Benguérir. To close the event, a road-situation simulation was organised to illustrate risk behaviour of which our children may be the victims. Prizes and certificates will be awarded to the children once the quiz results are known.
