OCP School Lab runs soil analysis for farmers in Ghana Ghana

OCP Africa, a subsidiary of OCP Group, has just launched a new phase of its OCP School Lab program in Ghana. For this campaign, the traveling school for good agricultural practices was deployed in the Ashanti region in the center of the country.

OCP School Lab aims to support small Ghanaian farmers through the provision of soil analyzes and recommendations for the application of fertilizers to meet the needs of local soils and crops. The initiative helps farmers improve their productivity by offering a wide range of services, from demonstrations and interactive training sessions on good agricultural practices to agronomic advice.

In the first half of this year, 22,325 Ghanian farmers benefited from the OCP School Lab campaign. The initiative, made up of 2 traveling laboratories, traveled through the eastern parts of Ghana covering 150 communities. For the second half of the year, the goal of the initiative is to reach 30,000 new beneficiaries in the Ashanti and western regions. Three traveling units will cover 160 communities during this OCP School Lab tour.

Since 2016, more than 270,000 farmers have benefited from OCP Africa's School Lab in eight African countries, namely Ghana, Nigeria, Togo, Côte d'Ivoire, Kenya, Burkina Faso, Tanzania and Senegal .
