OCP Group achieves Edge Move certification, reinforcing its global leadership in workplace gender equity
Download PDF - 178.57KBOCP Group has achieved the EDGE Move certification, marking a major milestone in its commitment to gender equity and inclusive leadership. EDGE (Economic Dividends for Gender Equality), the leading global assessment and business certification for gender and equity, has recognized OCP Group’s sustained progress since its initial EDGE Assess certification in 2022.
With this achievement, OCP Group becomes the only plant nutrition solutions company worldwide to attain EDGE Move certification and one of only four companies globally in the chemical and mining industries to reach this level. Among industrial sector leaders, OCP is one of only ten companies worldwide to have earned the EDGE Move distinction, standing out in a field dominated by energy and transport. This unique positioning underscores OCP’s leadership in advancing gender equity within traditionally male-dominated sectors.
Embedding equity at every level
This certification reflects OCP’s deep commitment to integrating equity across every layer of its organization. Ibtissam Bensetti, Chief Talent & Organizational Development Officer at OCP Group, emphasized that “Achieving EDGE Move has been about weaving equity into the fabric of how we lead, hire, develop, and support our people – not as a mere initiative, but as a fundamental part of the way we operate. Our goal is that every woman who graduates from university and joins OCP can be confident that she has exactly the same opportunities for growth as her male peers, opportunities rooted in her capabilities, not her gender.”
Key actions driving change
OCP Group has implemented pivotal policies to advance gender equity, including:
- Automatic pay gap analysis to ensure fairness across all levels.
- Inclusive mentorship and career development pathways designed to support women’s advancement.
- Parental leave policies that exceed national standards to promote work-life balance.
- A culture of inclusion embedded in leadership at all levels, ensuring equitable opportunities for all employees.
Sustained progress since 2022
OCP Group’s journey toward EDGE Move certification builds on the strong foundation established with its EDGE Assess certification in 2022. That milestone recognized OCP’s strong female representation in top management (29%, surpassing the 23% EDGE benchmark), and high employee awareness of equity and anti-harassment policies.
The EDGE Move certification is the result of a rigorous, independent assessment of gender representation, pay equity, inclusive practices, and organizational culture. More than a recognition of where OCP stands today, it underscores our active commitment to driving deeper, lasting equity outcomes.
“Companies that actively elevate women’s leadership unlock new avenues for innovation, performance, and sustainable growth. Supporting OCP Group in securing this significant Move-level recertification has been an important milestone for us. We hope this achievement encourages more Moroccan businesses to embrace the full potential of their talent.” David Tinel, IFC Country Manager for the Maghreb.
A global standard for inclusive growth
By reaching EDGE Move certification, OCP Group reaffirms its long-term ambition: to set the global standard for inclusive growth across Africa and beyond, ensuring that every individual has an equal opportunity to lead, contribute, and thrive.
